Financial Investigator

About the role

CGS is looking for a Financial Investigator to provide legal support and investigative services for a large federal agency. The role involves conducting complex financial investigations, analyzing evidence, and assisting in litigation to support prosecutorial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute investigations into financial fraud, including money laundering, wire fraud, and procurement fraud.
• Gather, verify, and analyze documents, statements, and technical data to build a solid evidentiary record.
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and supervisory attorneys to identify statutory and regulatory violations.
• Prepare interim and final investigative reports, affidavits, and court testimony as required.
• Utilize electronic databases to locate assets, documents, and other physical evidence.
• Conduct asset investigations, employment verification, and financial analysis to assess penalty payment capabilities.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience conducting financial investigations for government or law‑enforcement entities.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Understanding of federal, state, or local laws related to fraud and financial crimes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for report preparation and courtroom testimony.
