Financial Crimes Investigator (Entry Level)

About the role

AML RightSource, a technology-enabled managed services firm focused on fighting financial crime, is hiring an Entry Level Financial Crimes Investigator. No prior experience is required: comprehensive training is provided to build a career in financial crime compliance. The position is remote, with work done from a designated home workspace, and covers reviewing transactions, identifying suspicious activity and supporting Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor transactional activity to identify potential suspicious activity.
• Verify client identities and assess their relationships with financial institutions for KYC purposes.
• Interpret and implement client-operating policies related to financial data.
• Identify data anomalies and red flags for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and sanctions violations, and escalate them for second-level review.
• Write clear, concise reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Use basic Excel functions and Microsoft and internet applications for analysis.
• Follow timeframes and procedures, submit work for internal quality control review and adjust it based on feedback.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, company policies and client requirements related to anti-money laundering.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to learn quickly.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to feedback and identify process improvements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other Office tools.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, filtering, sorting) and strong research skills are a plus.
