Financial Coordinator - Transplant

About the role

The Transplant Financial Coordinator is a key member of the transplant team, responsible for coordinating the financial aspects of patient care from evaluation through post‑transplant follow‑up. This role involves compassionate interaction with patients and families to ensure access to necessary services and coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial screening for transplantation, including prescription drug coverage, follow‑up visits, and travel/housing needs.
• Communicate potential out‑of‑pocket costs and discuss benefits and financial concerns with patients.
• Obtain payor authorizations, pre‑certifications, and verify transplant coverage.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations to maximize patient coverage and reimbursements.
• Monitor and update insurance data, physician authorizations, and preferred provider information.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in transplant or a related field.
• Ability to anticipate and understand patient financial needs and convey information to appropriate personnel.
• Knowledge of third‑party insurance medical benefits, billing requirements, and oncology‑specific treatment coverage.
• Maintain confidentiality and understand patient rights.
• Compassion combined with strong professional skills.
