Financial Controller

About the role

BuildOps is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its accounting function across a fast‑growing SaaS organization. The role will own the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls in line with U.S. GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, equity, revenue accounting and tax compliance for multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, coordinating with FP&A, RevOps, Sales, Professional Services, People and Legal.
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage the annual audit and interim reviews, serving as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal and international tax and reporting requirements.
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues, including new accounting standards and pronouncements.
• Evaluate, implement and optimize ERP, billing, payroll and reporting systems to reduce manual effort.
• Develop, coach and mentor the accounting team, handling performance management and career development.
• Design and maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures to safeguard assets and support SOX compliance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading accounting functions in a multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction SaaS environment.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience managing external audits.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across finance, operations and legal teams.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.
