Financial Controller – FinTech & Crypto

About the role

A growing financial‑technology organization operating in regulated capital markets is seeking an experienced Financial Controller. The role will safeguard financial integrity, support rapid operational growth, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct month‑end and year‑end close cycles, delivering accurate financial information on schedule.
• Oversee accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, payables processing, and record keeping.
• Administer payroll and coordinate employee‑related processes with internal teams and third‑party providers.
• Manage daily cash activity, monitor liquidity, and handle short‑term funding requirements.
• Produce and review financial reports for executive management, governing bodies, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain and enhance financial systems, contributing to GL/ERP implementations and automation projects.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, compliance reviews, and financial statement preparation.
• Establish, refine, and document accounting procedures and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• 7+ years progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years in bank accounting and 2 years recent controller or head of finance role.
• Proven leadership of small teams.
• Strong track record of closing books within tight timeframes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory reporting for a regulated business.
