Financial Analyst

About the role

SkyWest, the largest regional airline in the United States, is looking for analytical-minded individuals to join its data analytics team in St. George, Utah. The team partners with departments across the organization to turn complex data into actionable insights, improve processes, optimize resources and support data-driven decisions. Analysts use modern analytics, automation and AI tools to help implement measurable business improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze operational, financial, maintenance, supply chain, safety and business data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Develop reports, dashboards, models and visualizations that support data-driven decisions.
• Gather, clean, validate and organize data from multiple systems and sources.
• Monitor KPIs and communicate findings to leadership.
• Assist in developing and improving forecasts, budgets and long-range planning models.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Support automation initiatives through reporting tools, business intelligence platforms and data analytics solutions.
• Document business requirements, methodologies, assumptions and findings, and present results to leaders and stakeholders.
• Support special projects, strategic initiatives and ad hoc analytical requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently on multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.

The position involves sitting at a computer for extended periods and may include an additional video interview. It is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.
