About the role

The Department of Pathology at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Financial Analyst 3 to join its on‑site team in Miami, FL. The analyst will support senior management by examining financial data, preparing forecasts, and delivering actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, prepare and coordinate documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
• Identify trends in competitive environments and make recommendations to senior management.
• Provide analytical evaluation for forward‑looking financial or business‑related projects.
• Devise financial forecasting models and reconcile accounts.
• Review reports to ensure accurate recording of financial information.
• Compare actual results with plans and forecasts, recommending adjustments as needed.
• Train and oversee junior staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in the development and organization of department and project budgets.
• Design models summarizing various growth and expansion scenarios.
• Develop performance dashboards, models, and analyses.
• Determine profitability and pricing for product offerings and create performance indicators.
• Conduct research on strategic initiatives and act as liaison with other departments, vendors, and external parties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant financial analysis experience.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
