The Financial Aid Advisor I supports Texas A&M University by reviewing new student accounts, managing scholarship donor data, and providing guidance on financial aid options. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience with the OMEGA scholarship database and exposure to federal, state, and institutional aid policies.

Key responsibilities

• Review and set up new student financial aid accounts under close supervision.
• Administer the OMEGA database, reconciling donor information for approximately $100 million in scholarships annually.
• Process equity transfers and ensure compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
• Advise prospective and current students and their families on available financial aid and scholarship programs.
• Assist with student file reviews, appeals, and adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with campus representatives to resolve financial aid concerns.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict compliance guidelines.
• Good standing on all Federal Student Loans; ability to resolve default status within three months of hire.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work weekends or holidays during peak periods.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student financial information.
