About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations for its Arizona office. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial processes that support the organization’s humanitarian mission.
Key responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly donor invoicing, guaranteeing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual and IRC standards.
- Oversee core accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, CIK processing, and financial reconciliations.
- Review transactions for proper coding, complete month‑end and year‑end closing tasks, and conduct variance analyses.
- Support internal audit reviews and ensure adherence to fiscal policies, internal controls, and funder regulations.
- Supervise finance staff, set performance goals, conduct reviews, and provide coaching.
- Collaborate with program managers, the Budget and Grants team, and HQ Finance to address financial inquiries and align grant reporting.
- Prepare and submit financial reports and invoices within established deadlines.
Required profile
- Experience supervising finance staff and managing performance.
- Strong knowledge of donor compliance and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Ability to partner with program and grant teams to ensure financial accountability.
- Proven track record in month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
