Finance Intern - Automotive Industry

About the role

The Finance department at Adient in Plymouth, Michigan offers summer internships in Costing, Central Finance and Commercial Finance within the automotive industry. Interns work onsite full time (40 hours per week) from May 3, 2027 through August 12, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Costing Intern: review engineering BOMs, compare program cost data, take part in engineering and manufacturing reviews, compile current costs for programs being quoted and help on other costing projects.
• Central Finance Intern: take part in the FY28 standard cost roll, automate warranty reports, assist with account reconciliations, review invoices and expenses, prepare recurring reports and support ad-hoc analysis.
• Commercial Finance Intern: monitor customer program financial performance and profitability, analyze variances and risks, support financial models and forecasts, track commercial open items, evaluate engineering changes and help with business case and ROI/ROS analysis.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university, working toward a 4-year B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the program.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is an added plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organization and follow-up.
