Finance & Business Services Specialist II

About the role

The Finance & Business Services (FBS) Specialist II supports Texas A&M University’s Centralized Finance and Business Services. Working under supervision, the role handles routine accounting, purchasing, payables, and receivables tasks while providing excellent service to internal staff and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Enter data into multiple financial systems and initiate basic payment inquiries.
• Compile, scan, and process vouchers, payment cards, and vendor documentation.
• Create invoices, assign cost allocations, and set up commodity or account codes.
• Maintain vendor records for 26 system members across Aggie Buy, FAMIS, USAS, and Emburse platforms.
• Provide customer service through the vendor portal and verify vendor information via IRS and compliance databases.
• Enter and review direct deposit information and ensure a 1% error rate or lower.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of related experience in accounting, purchasing, or financial support.
• Strong multitasking ability and cooperative teamwork skills.
• Clear and effective communication to ensure understanding.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Experience using Aggie Buy, FAMIS, USAS, and Emburse systems.
• Familiarity with vendor portals such as Total Supplier Management.
• Ability to verify vendor information through IRS and Visual Compliance databases.
