Field Service Engineer – Medical Imaging (NYC Metro)

About the role
You will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites nationally. The ideal candidate will be located in the greater New York City area and live within a 45‑minute commute to Manhattan.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by setting clear expectations, meeting commitments and arrival times, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Build strong customer relationships by understanding their business environment and contributing to service revenue growth.
- Collaborate with the regional team to improve processes, identify training gaps, and share best practices.
- Complete required administrative and compliance tasks, including accurate documentation of timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, preventive maintenance, installations, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electronic, mechanical, and network‑related system issues using established tools and escalation processes.
- Perform preventative maintenance, field changes, installations, and corrective service within required timeframes.
- Travel extensively (approximately 90%) to support customer sites, including overnight stays and air travel nationwide.
Required profile
- Hands‑on experience working in diagnostic imaging service in a hospital setting.
- At least 3 years in an electromechanical service environment supporting diagnostic X‑Ray, Cath Lab, or Image‑Guided Therapy equipment.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to apply electronic, mechanical, and networking principles to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex systems.
- Associate degree in electronics or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to meet the physical, cognitive, and environmental demands of a field service role, including extensive travel (≈90%).
