Field Service Engineer II – Chandler, AZ

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to serve as the direct liaison with customers in Chandler, AZ. You will install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment, using digital analytics and basic diagnostics to resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, trade certification, or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of field service or technical support experience.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics for equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques.
• Use of hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
