Field Service Controls Technician

About the role

The Field Service Controls Technician provides on‑site electrical and controls expertise to install, commission, troubleshoot and service industrial automation systems for Invio Automation customers. This customer‑facing role requires strong technical knowledge, professionalism and the ability to travel to multiple sites to ensure successful machine start‑up and ongoing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, wire and commission electrical control panels, field devices and automation equipment at customer locations according to engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic and controls‑related issues on industrial machinery in the field.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and pneumatic logic diagrams to diagnose system problems.
• Support machine start‑up, customer buy‑offs, FAT/SAT activities and system validation at customer facilities.
• Provide on‑site technical support, service and training to customers as required.
• Perform minor mechanical assembly, adjustments, drilling, tapping and system modifications to support commissioning and service.
• Document service activities, corrective actions and system changes for internal records and customer reports.
• Provide technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams regarding field issues and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in electrical and control systems within an industrial automation environment.
• Demonstrated ability to read and apply engineering drawings, schematics and pneumatic logic diagrams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to work independently on customer sites.
• Willingness to travel frequently and represent the company professionally.
