Field Performance Engineer

About the role

Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation is looking for a Field Performance Engineer to lead product performance investigations and manage claim‑driven product returns across all product lines. The role serves as the central owner of defective customer returns, conducting forensic analysis and supporting legal and risk mitigation efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of claim‑defective customer returns (RMA/FSR) and act as the central point of ownership.
• Conduct field investigations, forensic analyses, and site inspections to evaluate product failures and determine root causes.
• Prepare detailed reports for internal leadership, customers, legal teams, and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Legal, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to support litigation, claims defense, and risk mitigation.
• Travel to field sites (2–5 trips per month) and work onsite in Liberty, SC when not traveling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Civil Engineering, Forensic Engineering, or a related field (strongly preferred).
• 8–10+ years of experience in mechanical systems, product investigation, forensic engineering, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, mechanical product applications, and relevant industry codes (NFPA 13, 25, UL).
• Demonstrated stability in career progression and ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
