Machinist – Manufacturing (Full-Time)

About the role

The Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co. is a world‑leader in fire‑sprinkler manufacturing and seeks a skilled Machinist to join its long‑standing team. You will create and design machine parts, set up and operate a variety of machine tools, and ensure high‑quality production in a fast‑paced shop environment. This role contributes directly to the fire‑protection industry’s mission of saving lives and protecting property.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze work orders, blueprints, sketches, and models to determine material requirements and machining sequence.
• Set up and operate milling machines, shapers, grinders, water‑jet equipment, and CNC tools to produce parts to precise tolerances.
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, alignment, and clearances, and perform heat‑treating as needed.
• Maintain and repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and other shop equipment.
• Recommend design modifications for dies, tools, and fixtures to improve functionality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
• Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Solid understanding of basic algebra, geometry, and tolerance measurement (+/‑ .005).
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment.
