Field Investigator – SIU

About the role

Join MAPFRE’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) as a Field Investigator based on Massachusetts’ South or North Shore. You will conduct independent, in‑person investigations that support claims professionals across personal and commercial lines, helping to identify fraud, assess coverage, and protect the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thorough field investigations of casualty, physical‑damage, no‑fault, and commercial claims, including interviews, site analyses, EDR data downloads, and photographic documentation.
• Maintain regular communication with claim adjusters, law‑enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders, delivering findings within mandated deadlines.
• Prepare clear, concise written reports and oral briefings, ensuring all documentation complies with MAPFRE’s claim handling procedures.
• Meet productivity goals by tracking assignments, submitting expense reports, and recommending process improvements.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of claims‑adjusting experience involving physical‑damage, PIP, casualty, and SIU work, or 5+ years of professional investigative experience with a law‑enforcement agency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred; equivalent professional knowledge acceptable.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for frequent travel across the assigned territory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Claims Operational Systems and SIU investigative software.
• Experience conducting social‑media research and downloading Event Data Recorder (EDR) information.
• Advanced interviewing techniques, including recorded statements and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
