Field Erected Storage Tank Construction Manager

About the role
Baker Tank Company / Altech is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead field‑erected storage tank projects across the United States. You will direct foremen and crews, coordinate equipment, and ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full construction process, including API construction procedures, equipment allocation, crew scheduling, safety compliance, and quality assurance.
- Interpret project contracts, documentation, and construction drawings.
- Assist in job bidding by calculating required man‑hours for construction and repair work.
- Conduct on‑site project evaluations, safety inspections, and attend pre‑bid meetings.
- Maintain communication with customers for current projects and future sales opportunities.
- Protect confidential company and project information.
Required profile
- Proven experience constructing field‑erected carbon steel or stainless‑steel storage tanks.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites and navigate stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain safely.
- Strong communication skills for directing personnel and interacting with clients.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Pass required safety training, background checks, drug and alcohol testing.
Required skills
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards: API 650, API 653, ASME, OSHA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
