About the role

Meijer is looking for an entry-level team member to join its Fashion/Softlines department in Greenwood. The role delivers excellent customer service through product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude, and covers a range of retail tasks including product, customer service, pricing, inventory and merchandising. The position applies to several departments, including Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

Key responsibilities

• Build rapport with customers and show a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Help customers with their questions, directing them to another team member when needed.
• Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Use technology to complete activities and tasks.
• Collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Detail-oriented and organized, with strong listening and communication skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving ability and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Process-driven, able to follow procedures efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product, and to stand for long periods.
• Desire to work consistently with customers.
