Family Peer Support Specialist and Case Manager

About the role

The Center for Human Development, Inc. seeks a full‑time Family Peer Support Specialist and Case Manager to work with families of children facing emotional, behavioral, mental health, or developmental challenges. The role uses lived experience to support families, promote engagement, and facilitate access to services.

Key responsibilities

• Work intensively with parents to promote strength‑based problem solving, exploring strengths, needs, culture and vision.
• Participate in child and family team meetings, school meetings and other pertinent meetings to ensure family voice and choice.
• Identify and connect families with local resources (housing, education, health services) and assist with forms and navigation.
• Maintain constructive team relationships, demonstrate dependability, empathy and respect.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards according to HIPAA and maintain punctual in‑person attendance.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of lived experience and knowledge of the mental health system.
• Familiarity with laws and policies related to special education, mental health, child welfare, and juvenile justice (preferred).
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to pass criminal background and drug screening.
