Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO)

About the role

Petaluma Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Penngrove and surrounding areas, is recruiting a full-time Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO). The physician works in a team-based outpatient clinic setting integrated with behavioral health, with their own patient panel and support from Certified Medical Assistants, Referral Specialists and RNs. The center offers a full or partial scope of family medicine and primary care, and physicians can mentor medical students and take part in its NP/PA residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct medical care to patients, including physical examinations, differential diagnosis, ordering laboratory studies and prescribing medications and treatments
• Advise patients on diet, hygiene and disease prevention, and document patient information accurately and on time
• Manage follow-up cases and take after-hours calls and weekend clinics
• Supervise PA/NP staff and work with outside locations such as school-based clinics and skilled nursing facilities
• Take part in internal quality improvement teams

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program
• 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in a community-based health clinic
• Board-certified MD with a current California license and DEA registration
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• CPR certified and able to maintain CME for certification renewal

• Salary of $227,000 to $275,065 per year
