About the role

Bosch Charleston is offering a Fall 2026 Industrial Engineer co‑op for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Systems Engineering. The position provides hands‑on experience across multiple work terms, focusing on plant layout, lean manufacturing, material handling, and project leadership within a global technology company.

Key responsibilities

• Update plant layouts of machines and equipment using CAD tools (MicroStation).
• Write, design, and coordinate work requests for equipment installation or relocation.
• Perform time and delay studies of machine cycles and operator stations.
• Support lean manufacturing projects (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, quick changeover, standard work).
• Conduct ergonomic evaluations and recommend improvements.
• Design, implement, and improve material handling systems.
• Participate in Lean Line Design and Continuous Flow workshops.
• Lead a small departmental project from inception to completion.

Required profile

• Pursuing a BS in Industrial or Systems Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self‑starting, results‑oriented, flexible team player.
