Facilities Supervisor Electrical

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems across a 4 million‑square‑foot healthcare campus. This position leads a team of electricians, ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, and supports critical infrastructure such as emergency power and life‑safety systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and schedule electricians and technicians, assign work orders and preventive‑maintenance tasks, and enforce safety protocols.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution, emergency generators, UPS/ATS, lighting, and fire‑alarm electrical components.
• Develop and manage preventive‑maintenance programs, respond to electrical failures, and maintain accurate logs and compliance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, Joint Commission and OSHA standards, support inspections and audits, and maintain life‑safety testing records.
• Coordinate electrical work for renovations and capital projects, review plans, manage contractors, and track budgets and timelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• Licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master preferred) with 5–10 years of electrical experience, including 2–4 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in healthcare or large commercial/industrial facilities strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and emergency power systems.
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and critical‑environment operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
