Maintenance Technician (BTR) – Property Maintenance

About the role

This full‑time position performs technical and mechanical work to keep the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas at Covey Homes Westpointe in top condition, ensuring safety, cleanliness and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspection.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Maintain documentation and paperwork promptly and accurately for service tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders and work in confined spaces; lift up to 25 lb independently and 50 lb with assistance.
• Work in all weather conditions and be available for on‑call duties during evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license (for golf‑cart operation where applicable) and EPA refrigerant recycling certifications (Type 1, Type II or Universal).

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certification (Type 1, Type II or Universal).
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
