Facilities Supervisor – Building Operations

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Facilities is seeking a full‑time Supervisor, Building Facilities to oversee daily operations, staff, and budgeting for its campus facilities in Miami, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures for building systems.
• Supervise facility staff, set performance goals, provide feedback, and conduct evaluations.
• Coordinate security efforts with internal staff and external law‑enforcement agencies.
• Maintain equipment, oversee timely repairs, and manage inventory of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Develop emergency preparedness plans and lead cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Liaise with external contractors to verify service compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
• Minimum three years of experience in facilities or building operations management.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and provide training.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
• Technical knowledge of building systems, security coordination, and emergency planning.
