Facilities Project Manager

About the role

The Facilities Project Manager will lead campus renovation and capital‑improvement projects at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, overseeing small to mid‑sized initiatives and supporting larger capital programs from early planning through construction closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned renovation and capital‑improvement projects from scope development to construction closeout.
• Coordinate with campus stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to advance design and construction activities.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
• Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change orders in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Conduct site visits, ensure compliance with codes and regulations, and prepare regular project status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in higher‑education or similar institutional settings.
• Strong understanding of design and construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communicate project status clearly.
