Facilities Customer Service Coordinator

About the role

The Facilities Customer Service Coordinator works in the 24/7 Facilities Customer Service Center, serving as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, vendors and visitors. The role handles work‑request submissions, emergency situations and routine inquiries during scheduled hours.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phone calls and route inquiries according to established procedures.
• Receive, record, distribute and dispatch work requests, escalating issues when required.
• Operate two‑way radio and paging systems, manage key and key‑card sign‑out, and monitor energy‑management and emergency alarm systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least two years of customer‑service experience, preferably in a call‑center environment.
• Strong communication skills, ability to follow procedures accurately, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with NU’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order processing.
• Accurate typing and data‑entry abilities.
