Fabrication Technician

About the role

MP Systems, an OEM manufacturer of CNC machine tool accessories such as high-pressure coolant systems, chillers, filtration and mist collection, is hiring a Fabrication Technician in Enfield. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the technician produces sheet metal components and weldments, finishes them, checks them for defects and packages them before release. Key responsibilities

• Review and follow production work orders and associated paperwork such as schematics, work instructions and production orders.
• Produce sheet metal components and weldments and carry out finishing operations to complete them.
• Check that finished components are free from defects or inconsistencies and package them properly before release.
• Promote safe work habits and keep the work area clean and orderly; follow safety guidelines.

Required skills

• CNC press brake: job programming, tool setup and operation.
• CNC plasma table: job programming, material handling and machine maintenance.
• Manual mill and lathe: work holding, turning and milling.
• Cold saws, band saws and handheld plasma cutters.
• Welding with knowledge of GMAW, GTAW and STAW, including choosing processes and parameters.
• Finishing line equipment: steam cleaning, powder coating and electric ovens.
