External Communications Intern

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking an External Communications Intern to support its website, storytelling platform, and social media channels. This 10‑12‑week internship offers hands‑on experience in research, writing, editing, and content creation.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write and edit content for ClevelandFed.org and fedcommunities.org.
• Develop social media content and graphics for platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky.
• Create materials for internal and external events and support external engagement research.
• Assist other external engagement teams with various tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Integrated Marketing Communications with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least one semester remaining before graduation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
• Strong digital skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
