Executive Human Resources Director

About the role

The Executive Human Resources Director leads all HR functions for Albany Technical College, reporting directly to the President. This senior leader shapes talent strategy, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development to support the college’s mission and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the college’s vision and strategic goals.
• Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive team on all human capital matters.
• Lead organizational change initiatives, leadership development programs, and employee engagement efforts.
• Manage the annual open enrollment process and maintain employee personnel files.
• Handle adverse actions, employee relations issues, and ensure consistent policy application.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, TCSG policies, and workplace safety standards.
• Develop and maintain the Employee Handbook and oversee background and Homeland Security checks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior HR leadership, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner with senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, develop talent pipelines, and foster an inclusive workplace culture.
