Executive Director, Portfolio Management

About the role

The Executive Director, Portfolio Management leads the C&I and CRE portfolio teams at Northwest, overseeing reporting for Cash Flow and SBA verticals and representing Credit Management in the Credit Risk Committee and regulatory forums.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and mentor the C&I and CRE portfolio management teams, ensuring accurate underwriting, annual reviews, and modifications.
• Produce and validate first‑line of defense reports for all commercial lines of business.
• Present portfolio performance at the monthly Credit Risk Committee and resolve issues logged in the Archer system.
• Maintain compliance with credit policy, federal/state regulations, and internal audit standards.
• Identify potential credit losses and recommend risk mitigants while balancing growth, profitability, and credit quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
• 8‑12 years of experience in portfolio management or commercial credit administration, including C&I, CRE, SBA, and equipment finance.
• Proven ability to lead, develop junior managers and manage staffing levels within budget.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using the Archer risk‑management system.
• Financial analysis expertise for complex loan portfolios.
