About the role

Thrive Now Recovery Centers, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking an experienced, mission‑driven Executive Director to lead its residential substance‑use disorder treatment facility in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. The role combines strategic vision with day‑to‑day operational oversight to ensure high‑quality, person‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for facility operations, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive patient census growth and market development in the Des Moines region.
• Oversee financial stewardship, labor management, and resource utilization.
• Partner with clinical and medical leaders to ensure quality and safety outcomes.
• Develop and nurture staff through performance management, culture building, and team development.
• Maintain strong community and referral relationships.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and execute organizational strategies.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in behavioral health or related healthcare administration.
• Demonstrated ability to balance compassionate care with operational discipline.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and labor costs.
• Track record of regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
