About the role

The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center is looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented Events Operations Associate to join its year‑round events team in Bar Harbor, Maine. This hands‑on, physically demanding position involves setting up and breaking down event spaces for weddings, corporate meetings, and other celebrations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and break down indoor and outdoor event spaces, often multiple times in a single day.
• Move, lift, carry, and position tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, risers, podiums, and other large structures according to floor plans.
• Arrange linens, décor, and equipment to create polished, functional event environments.
• Assist with room flips, load‑in/load‑out for vendors, and basic operation of in‑house AV equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized storage areas and report any missing, damaged, or unsafe items.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and event teams to ensure seamless execution.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, safely lifting up to 65 lb repeatedly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow floor plans, diagrams, and verbal directions.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior hospitality or event‑operations experience preferred.

Required skills

• Basic audio‑visual equipment operation (microphones, speakers, lighting, presentation equipment).
• Ability to troubleshoot minor AV issues and escalate when needed.
