Events Manager (Conventions Services Manager)

About the role

Our client, a lifestyle boutique hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking an experienced Events Manager / Convention Services Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of meetings, conventions, and special events. The role acts as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations after an event is booked, ensuring seamless communication and flawless delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients post‑sale, planning and coordinating all aspects of meetings, conventions, weddings and social events.
• Create and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and maintain consistent communication to meet or exceed client expectations.
• Oversee on‑site event execution, coordinating with banquet, culinary, audiovisual, housekeeping and front‑office teams.
• Work closely with Sales, Banquets, Culinary and Operations to ensure accurate documentation, site inspections and smooth event walkthroughs.
• Assist with contract review, budgeting, invoicing and post‑event billing reconciliation to support profitability goals.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in hotel event management, convention services or banquet operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by event schedules.

Required skills

• Experience creating and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Familiarity with event management software or hotel PMS systems.
• Knowledge of banquet operations and audiovisual coordination.
