Event & Community Manager

About the role

We are seeking our first Event & Community Manager to build and lead Nectar Social’s events and community function from the ground up. In this founding role you will design and execute experiences that bring customers, prospects, and industry partners together, while shaping what community means for a fast‑moving marketing‑tech startup.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end planning and execution of the event calendar, including customer dinners, roundtables, happy hours, webinars, and conference booths.
• Manage budgets, vendors, venues, and logistics, creating repeatable processes for scalable growth.
• Partner with sales and customer success to craft event strategies that generate pipeline and deepen existing relationships.
• Track and report event ROI (attendance, pipeline influence, sentiment) and continuously refine the calendar.
• Represent Nectar at industry conferences, handling on‑site logistics and sponsor deliverables.
• Design and launch the first customer/industry community program (e.g., Slack or Discord), establishing a cadence of AMAs, office hours, spotlights, and peer discussions.
• Serve as primary contact for community members, cultivating authentic relationships and identifying advocates for case studies and referrals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in event planning and community management, preferably in a B2B or tech environment.
• Comfortable operating in an early‑stage, fast‑moving company with full ownership of function.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, working closely with marketing, sales, customer success, and founders.
• Data‑driven mindset to measure impact and iterate on programs.
