Associate Director, Media

About the role

The Associate Director, Media will lead the execution of Drexel University's centralized social media strategy, supporting brand awareness, enrollment, alumni engagement and the cooperative education program. Reporting to the Director of Media Marketing, the role balances organic social management with paid media initiatives across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage content for university‑wide social accounts including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar aligned with key dates, events and campaigns.
• Lead the university‑wide social media working group, providing vision and professional development for peers.
• Monitor social channels for brand mentions, crises and emerging trends, escalating issues as needed.
• Produce monthly analytics reports showing organic reach, engagement and paid media performance.
• Oversee advertising services for university clients, collaborating with strategists, media relations and enrollment management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in social media management and strategy.
• Strong time‑ and project‑management abilities with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with audio/video creation, animation, graphics and multimedia software.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and analytics tools.
• Familiarity with media buying, copywriting, SEO and production management.
• Experience using CRM and Content Management Systems.
