Esterification Process Operator – Conroe, TX

About the role

Oleon is seeking an Esterification Process Operator to join its Conroe, Texas plant. You will be responsible for running and monitoring esterification batches, ensuring product quality and plant safety while supporting utilities and wastewater operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor esterification processes through the Siemens Distributed Control System (DCS) following SOPs.
• Patrol reactors, storage tanks, scrubbers, and filters to verify functionality and efficiency.
• Oversee day‑to‑day utilities and wastewater treatment plant operations, maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Execute changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and minor technical interventions to prevent production loss.
• Support plant shutdowns and start‑ups according to provided instructions.
• Collect process samples, record data in the LIMS system, and perform basic QC tests.
• Handle material loading/unloading, weigh isotanks, RTCs, and trucks using the site weighbridge.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and adhere to HSE procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field, OR high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, chemical reactions, and process safety management (PSM).
• Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety standards.

Required skills

• Experience with Siemens Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Familiarity with SAP for documentation and reporting.
• Proficiency in using LIMS for sample tracking and analysis.
• Understanding of process control systems and safety procedures.
