Environmental Services Floor Technician

About the role

The Environmental Services Floor Technician creates a sanitary, safe environment and enhances the appearance of the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. This position works primarily in inpatient, discharge, and surgical settings, as well as ancillary and outpatient areas.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas, including dust mopping, mopping/scrubbing, vacuuming, gum removal, and buffing hard floor surfaces using various equipment.
• Complete waste stream removal, handling general waste, recycling, and infectious waste according to policy.
• Follow patient isolation policies and Environmental Services standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and pay attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, reach, and stand for long periods while handling cleaning chemicals.
• Flexibility to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts, including every other weekend.
• Clear, courteous, and caring communication skills.
