Environmental Scientist / Chemical Data Validator

About the role

The Environmental Scientist/Chemical Data Validator will review and validate analytical chemistry data generated by subcontracted laboratories to ensure compliance with EPA, DOE, and DoD guidelines and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Validate analytical chemistry data according to national standards and company procedures.
• Prepare written validation reports, checklists, and data qualification summaries.
• Operate databases and spreadsheets to track validation requests and manage backlogs.
• Assist project teams in selecting methods, evaluating lab proposals, and establishing QA/QC requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field, or equivalent laboratory experience.
• Strong understanding of scientific principles, sampling, QA/QC of chemical measurements, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Data validation and quality assurance of chemical analysis.
• Knowledge of EPA, DOE, and DoD analytical guidelines.
• Proficiency with databases and spreadsheet software.
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and analytical instrumentation.
