Director, Supplier Decarbonization Lead

About the role

The Supplier Decarbonization Lead owns Takeda’s global supplier decarbonization strategy and climate service line for Procurement. This senior position translates enterprise climate ambitions into actionable supplier programs and governs delivery across emissions transparency, renewable energy, product carbon footprint data, and verified Scope 3 reductions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global supplier decarbonization roadmap, operating model, service catalogue and multi‑year priorities.
• Lead strategic engagement with priority suppliers on climate targets, emissions transparency, renewable energy adoption, and transition roadmaps.
• Govern supplier climate programs such as SBTi, CDP Supply Chain, Energize and product carbon footprint initiatives.
• Ensure credible Scope 3 data, methodologies and reporting in partnership with Group Sustainability and analytics teams.
• Manage and develop two Supplier Decarbonization & Sustainable Sourcing Managers, including performance, coaching and workload allocation.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in sustainability, procurement, supply chain or climate programs.
• Proven leadership of global supplier or cross‑functional transformation programs.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Scope 3 accounting and emissions data.
• Experience with CDP, SBTi, GHG Protocol and product carbon footprint (PCF) methodologies.
• Expertise in renewable‑energy programs and climate‑target frameworks.
