Environmental Emergency Response Manager

About the role

EnviroScience is looking for an Environmental Emergency Response Manager in Nashville, Tennessee. The manager responds to, oversees and coordinates all emergency response activities, manages response teams, develops emergency response plans and ensures compliance with safety regulations. The role works closely with local authorities, clients and internal teams, and is based in the Compliance Services department, reporting to the Compliance Services Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement emergency response plans, coordinate protocols with local authorities and clients, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead and manage response teams during incidents, run regular training and drills, and evaluate team performance.
• Oversee response activities during environmental emergencies, assess situations and develop response strategies, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, keep accurate incident records and prepare reports for clients and regulators.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during incidents and communicate regularly with authorities, agencies and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in emergency response or a related field.
• Preferred: IAEM Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or ability to obtain it within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred: experience with hazardous materials and waste management, multimedia sampling, incident command systems and emergency operations centers, and prior consulting or environmental services experience.
• Ability to travel up to 65% of the time, including overnight trips and outdoor work in all weather near waterways.

• Proficiency with emergency response software and tools.
• Project management, training delivery, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
