Entry-Level Transportation Design Engineer

About the role

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig, a transportation engineering, planning and environmental firm, is looking for an entry-level engineer for its Mountain West Civil Group in Denver. The role focuses on transportation design and plan production for multimodal corridors, roadways, highway interchanges and multi-use trails for state and municipal clients, with early-career emphasis on transportation modeling software.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a lead design engineer or project manager
• Use Civil3D and/or MicroStation ORD as the primary design tool and produce engineering plans
• Assist with data collection, technical analysis and written project documentation
• Assist with client interaction, including presenting design elements at coordination meetings
• Apply Federal, State and Municipal standards as appropriate
• Maintain an organized design journal for each project and follow the firm's quality management program

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited four-year institution
• 0 to 3 years of transportation engineering experience; prior experience or internships in the field are preferred
• FE/EI certification preferred

Required skills

• Civil3D and/or MicroStation/ORD (preferred)
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (preferred)
