Entry-Level Imaging Technologist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a new‑graduate imaging technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures, ensure patient safety, and serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students across its facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and use radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explain procedures to patients, operate imaging equipment, and ensure diagnostic quality of images.
• Perform quality control, maintain equipment, and assist with departmental operations such as inventory and scheduling.
• Adapt communication and behavior to diverse patient populations while adhering to privacy and safety standards.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registration (or eligibility) within 90 days of hire and a current state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Radiologic technology procedures and equipment operation.
• Use of radiology information systems and basic computer applications.
• ARRT certification and state licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
