Entry Level Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an entry‑level accountant to join a hospitality organization in New York. The role is initially contract‑based with the potential to become permanent, offering a solid foundation in day‑to‑day accounting activities within a collaborative Finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue a high volume of invoices, ensuring all billing information is complete and accurate.
• Enter financial and billing data into internal systems with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to follow up on outstanding balances and support collection efforts.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries related to invoices.
• Assist with year‑end accounting activities, organizing records and supporting the close process.
• Review accounting information for discrepancies and help resolve routine invoicing or receivable issues.
• Maintain organized documentation to support reporting, reconciliations, and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Previous experience or academic exposure in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Familiarity with invoicing, collections, data entry, or accounts receivable support.
• Ability to contribute to year‑end close activities in an administrative or accounting support capacity.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy when handling financial information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for responding to billing inquiries.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
