Entrepreneur in Residence - Gestational Diabetes Screening Startup

About the role

One Health Studio, a venture studio of Alloy Partners, is recruiting an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) to incubate a new company called Sugar Mommas, focused on continuous glucose monitors (CGM) and a standardized glucose challenge delivered as an OB/GYN-ordered kit completed at home. The role is full-time, remote-friendly with regular studio time in Indianapolis, and runs about 6 months as a 1099 contractor with the option to extend, with a possible transition to full-time co-founder.

Key responsibilities

• In the first 90 days: develop a founding thesis on the GDM screening and diagnosis landscape, run rapid customer and clinical discovery with patients, OB/GYNs, specialists, payers and health systems, stress-test the regulatory strategy, map the competitive landscape and reach a go/no-go decision.
• Define the initial product scope and clinical protocol (CGM, glucose challenge and provider workflow).
• Advance the corporate partnership pipeline (Dexcom, Eli Lilly, Abbott, Medicaid MCOs, Brazilian Ministry of Health) from technical conversations to signed terms.
• Recruit technical and clinical co-founders, build relationships with design partners and clinical validation sites, and lead the Series Seed fundraise with studio co-investment.

Required profile

• A founder's track record: founded a company, led a product from zero, or ran a commercial launch end-to-end.
• DTC or consumer health experience, ideally with women's health, and comfort navigating Medicaid, health systems or payer channels.
• Technical fluency, direct or by proxy, and speed and clarity under ambiguity.
• A clear point of view on health equity.

What we offer

• $12,500 per month as a 1099 contractor during the ~6-month incubation.
• Estimated co-founder yearly salary of $150-200k after the company spins out.
