Enterprise Data Architect

About the role

Staar Surgical is hiring a hands-on Enterprise Data Architect in Lake Forest, California, to build and expand its enterprise data and analytics environment. The role designs reliable data integrations, develops cloud data warehouse solutions and helps set up an effective Power BI and Power Apps environment, working directly with business and IT teams. The environment uses Oracle Fusion, Snowflake, Fivetran and the Microsoft Power Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and support scalable data pipelines that extract large volumes of data from Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and load them into a cloud data warehouse, with bulk and incremental extraction, scheduling, monitoring and recovery.
• Build and maintain data models, SQL transformations and reusable datasets for reporting and analytics, and integrate additional applications and data sources.
• Diagnose and fix pipeline failures, data discrepancies and performance issues, and help expand the Snowflake and Fivetran environment.
• Build and organise Power BI workspaces, semantic models, reports and dashboards, and develop Power Apps connected to enterprise data.
• Use Power Automate and other integration tools, and work with business users to turn requirements into reporting and application solutions.
• Own solutions end to end in an Agile approach, coordinating with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, Sales and Marketing teams.
• Support practical AI-enabled analytics initiatives, such as chatbots that let users query Power BI content or enterprise data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience acceptable.
• Typically 8-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence or enterprise application integration.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience extracting Oracle Fusion data at enterprise scale and building production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Preferred: Fivetran and Snowflake experience, Oracle EPM, accounting and finance reporting, Salesforce in a B2B commercial setting, and supply chain or manufacturing experience.

Required skills

• Oracle Fusion data extraction (e.g. BICC or comparable bulk extraction) and production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Cloud data warehousing with Snowflake or a comparable platform.
• Strong SQL, data modelling, transformation and troubleshooting.
• Power BI workspaces, semantic models and deployment; Power Apps development.
• Agile delivery, SDLC practices, version control and documentation.

Pay range is $160K-$200K, depending on experience.
