Enrollment Specialist

About the role

Covista is hiring a full-time Enrollment Specialist for Walden University in Lisle, IL. The specialist builds trusted relationships with current and potential students, uses in-depth knowledge of the university's programs to recommend the right fit, and guides prospects through the enrollment process. The position works on a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week (Monday to Thursday) and one evening shift.

Key responsibilities

• Learn the steps of the enrollment process, including specialized areas such as financial aid.
• Communicate the value of the university's programs by phone, mail, fax and direct mail so prospects can choose the right program and start date.
• Use critical thinking and problem-solving to resolve student issues and keep a positive student experience.
• Assess potential applicants and guide them through the enrollment process, including Doctoral and Alumni programs.
• Keep track of leads, complete and accurate applications, and enter student information accurately while keeping it confidential.
• Maintain relationships with students to support program persistence and generate referrals.
• Work with the direct team and other departments, attend training sessions, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ year of customer service, account management or relationship-building experience preferred.
• 1+ year of previous admissions experience preferred.
• Confident telephone presence and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team, with strong time management and prioritization.
• Consultative skills, adaptability to a fast pace, and ability to receive constructive feedback.
• Must complete Enrollment Specialist training, including product evaluations and telephone assessments, before certification.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential student data in line with the Covista Code of Conduct and Ethics policy.
