Engineering Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Engineering Technician role supports design, testing, assembly and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical systems used in cutting‑edge equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex electro‑mechanical design, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems, including new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Compile logbooks and test procedures, assist in revising department procedures, and generate quality notifications.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in electro‑mechanical or manufacturing environments.
• Physically demanding work: standing for long periods, lifting, working in tight spaces, clean‑room attire and use of hand/power tools and forklifts.
• Ability to follow safety standards, attend required training and report hazards promptly.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system design and assembly.
• Circuit design and prototype development.
• Operation of specialized test equipment, fixtures and tools.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum testing.
• Forklift operation and heavy‑machinery handling.
