Engineering Supervisor – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor ensures guest service and sustainability standards are met through general maintenance across the hotel. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this role oversees daily upkeep, small projects, and vendor coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer with hiring, training, scheduling and coaching maintenance staff.
• Conduct room inspections, identify repair needs and manage work orders.
• Coordinate bids, quotes and contracts with third‑party vendors.
• Oversee small projects and PIPs, tracking progress and reporting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, kitchen equipment and life‑safety systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance and service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes, as well as OSHA and MSDS standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or trade school coursework; related experience required.
• Previous engineering/maintenance experience in a hospitality setting.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including holidays, weekends and alternate schedules.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lb and perform climbing, kneeling and reaching tasks.

• Painting of interior and exterior surfaces.
• Basic electrical fixture installation and TV programming.
• Plumbing repairs and fixture replacement.
• HVAC pump replacement and preventive maintenance.

• Life‑safety system testing and maintenance.
