Engineering Intern

About the role

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support the design, development, testing, and qualification of specialized equipment used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This role offers hands‑on experience with equipment used in chromatography, virus filtration, and other bioprocesses.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and assembly of custom manufacturing equipment.
• Support equipment testing, commissioning, validation, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Create and review technical drawings, specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and customers throughout project execution.
• Research new technologies and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Interest in equipment design, manufacturing, and engineering processes.
• Ability to work onsite in Glenview, IL.
• Collaborative, self‑motivated attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
